TDP faces revolt in many constituencies HYDERABAD: Even as TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu is struggling to deal with rebels of his party as well as the BJP in the seats shared by both the parties in Telangana as part of electoral alliance, yellow party leaders in Seemandhra too have begun creating troubles to Naidu in the seats allotted to the saffron party in the residuary State of AP.
The yellow party witnessed a rebellion of sorts in several Assembly segments that were given to the BJP in Seemandhra.
For instance, several of the TDP leaders and workers in Assembly segments such as Tadepalligudem, Kaikalur, Santhanuthalapadu and Vijayawada West took to streets and staged dharnas demanding their party chief to take back these seats from the saffron party.
Party MLA from Kaikalur, Jayamangala Venkata Ramana, went further and threatened his party chief with contesting the polls as rebel if the party leadership had not taken back the Kaikalur seat from the BJP.
Venkata Ramana tried to attack his party chief's decision to allot Kaikalur seat to the saffron party even as his followers were attacking the party office there. Some of the agitating supporters of Ramana damaged the furniture in the TDP's office to give vent to their ire.
Meanwhile, Kesineni Srinivas alias Nani's episode in the TDP ended as a storm in a teacup by Monday evening with Naidu deciding to allot Vijayawada Lok Sabha seat to Nani only.
