Modi must become PM, exhorts Pawan Hyderabad: Actor and Janasena founder Pawan Kalyan arrived to a rousing welcome in Kolar of Karnataka on Tuesday morning. The actor, who recently launched the Jana Sena party to fight corruption was in Kolar to campaign for the BJP.
Pawan's campaign comes a day after his brother and union minister K Chiranjeevi campaigned for the Congress party in Chikkaballapur in Karnataka.
Both Chikkaballapur and Kolar have a huge chunk of Telugu population. In his speech, Pawan in his trademark style slammed the Congress for dividing the state and separating Telugu people.
He also said that he did not agree to campaign for the party to promote his movies but for the sake of the country. "Congress must go, Modi must become the prime minister," asserted Pawan.
The actor received thunderous round of applause even as Pawan's supporters raised slogans. The huge crowd that had thronged the public meeting venue were uncontrollable as they howled making it impossible for Pawan's speech to be heard.
