Hyderabad : Maintaining that everything was destroyed in Telangana under Andhra rulers, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrashekar Rao asserted on Tuesday that his party should come to power for all-round development of the State.

At a public meeting in Induru, Nizamabad district, KCR said that the district was destroyed under the dispensation of Andhra rulers. 'Once Nizamabad was rich in terms of agricultural produce like sugarcane, paddy and turmeric, but many of the areas producing these crops have been damaged due to negligence of the Andhra rulers,' said KCR.

The district had become backward due to the skewed policies of Andhra rulers, he added. The TRS president said that the Nizam Sagar project was the biggest irrigation project in the world.

He said that Singur project would be revitalized and dedicated to Nizamabad district. Rao said that many canal works were pending under the project like Lendi, SLBC, Nettempadu, Bheema and other projects.

He asked former irrigation minister Sudharshan Reddy to answer why the projects were still pending. KCR said that his party would restore the lost glory of Nizam Sugar factory, which was Asia's biggest factory.

Apart from this, the Sarangpur' Jankampet Sugar factory would also be revived.The TRS chief reiterated that there won't be any contract employee in Telangana State.

The services of all existing contract employees would be regularised. He alleged that the previous governments had followed wrong policies on employment, but the TRS, upon coming to power, would be a 'friendly government' providing special increment to all T-government employees.

KCR said that TRS, being cent per cent secular party, would not align with communal parties. 'Even Mahatma Gandhiji also appreciated the 'Ganga Jamuna tehzeeb' (brotherhood among Hindus & Muslims) prevailing in Telangana,' said KCR.

'For doing justice to Telangana, TRS should win 17 Lok Sabha and 119 Assembly seats. Only in such a situation, can the State get any project cleared by the Centre,' KCR observed.

He appealed to the people of Telangana to cast their Assembly and Lok Sabha votes to TRS party. He said that former PCC chief D Srinivas would not become chief minister in his life.

Nizamabad Lok Sabha TRS candidate K Kavita said that all those sporting the pink scarf were involved in agitation. 'We went to jail during the Telangana agitation and now the right to take up restructuring of Telangana should go to TRS,' said Kavita. She said that voting for BJP and TDP means giving licence to Andhra rulers to hatch conspiracies against Telangana people.
