BJP tsunami sweeping across nation

Hyderabad: Rounding off a whirlwind tour of Telangana region that saw him address four public meetings, the BJP's prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi declared that there was a 'tsunami' sweeping across the country in his party's favour and there was no escape for the Congress and its allies.

'When I started the campaign it was only a storm, but it has now turned into a tsunami. Like other parts of the country, the tsunami was also sweeping through Telangana,' he said, addressing an impressive gathering at LB stadium in the city.

Modi termed bad governance of the Congress as the root cause of all the problems and assured that the NDA would usher in development and prosperity to meet the aspirations of 125 crore people of the country. He also promised to bring back the black money stashed away in foreign banks.

'If required, we will change the laws and sign new agreements with the countries concerned. But, we will certainly get back the unaccounted money,' he said adding a part of the money thus recovered would be used to pay back to the salaried class who are honestly paying their taxes.

Stating that the bad governance was like a virus that was eating into the vitals of the country, Modi said there was a need to stress on good governance.

The ten-year rule of Mother-Son (Sonia-Rahul) government was like 'loot as much as you can', he alleged.

Sharing the dais with Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu, BJP's electoral ally and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan, Modi promised to uphold the pride of Telugu people. He accused the Congress of belittling the Telugu spirit over the years.

The BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate focused on the insult and humiliation meted out to Telugu people and their leaders by the Congress over the years.

He reminded people about the insult to former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao and former Chief Ministers T Anjaiah and Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy. 'I don't know what the reason for Congress party is to belittle Telugu people and their pride time and again,' said Modi.

He also said that if Sardar Patel wasn't there, then we would have to get a visa to come to Hyderabad. The Nehru-Gandhi family had even insulted Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel,' he said.

Modi targeted both the Congress and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) for promoting dynasty politics and said their only aim was to loot. 'A family in Delhi has already destroyed India. Will you commit the same mistake here?' he asked the people in an obvious reference to the family of TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao.

The BJP leader attacked the Congress for the way it divided the State. Modi said that the BJP MPs were experiencing curses whereas the Congress MPs were spraying pepper in the eyes.

'The Congress is such a doctor which delivered a baby but killed the mother (Telugu spirit). You need a doctor who can respond and raise Telangana and Seemandhra as infants. The imminent NDA government in Delhi will respect this and live up to the responsibilities,' he said.

He said when Atal Bihari Vajpayee formed three States and not even a single bullet was fired, but 1,100 lives were lost in Telangana because of the Congress' dilatory tactics.

These sacrifices were for changing the fate of Telangana and for flourishing Telangana,' he added.

He lauded the efforts of Telugu film star Pawan Kalyan stating that he had concern for the people of both the States and wanted the people not to follow wrong path.

The BJP leader showered praise on TDP chief stating that Chandrababu Naidu made the city popular in the world with the support of Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.

'If the country wants to compete with other countries then we have to see the dream of digital India,' he said. Modi called upon the youth in the age group of 18-28 years to decisively vote for a strong government at the Centre to change not only the country's fortunes but also their own.

'Forget about politics. Just think of yourself. Just as how Plus 2 examination is critical in a student's life, the 18-28 age period is very significant in anybody's life.
