Naidu calls Congmen 'thieves' KURNOOL: Terming the Congress as 'a party of thieves' and the YSRC 'a party of the corrupt', TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has called upon the Seemandhra people to teach a befitting lesson to both the parties in the coming elections.
Participating in a series of roadshows in Kosigi, Alur and Atmakur towns of Kurnool district as part of his poll compaign, he said that while the people of the district were facing severe drinking water shortage, the Kiran Kumar Reddy-led Congress government had chosen to make liquor available at people's doorsteps.
While alleging that the YSRC had given tickets to criminals and rowdies, the TDP chief said corruption is deeply entrenched in the YSRC, with the seeds of corruption sown during YS Rajasekhara Reddy's time itself and added that a fresh scam involving KVP Ramachandra Rao is a perfect example of the deep-rooted in corruption in the party floated by YSR's heir.
Focusing his attention on BCs and their development, Naidu assured the implementation of the BC sub-plan on the lines of the SC, ST sub-plan. Reiterating his commitment for the development of BC in every manner, he said he had already announced a BC leader as the party's chief minister candidate for Telangana.
Claiming that the BCs and the downtrodden got justice only during the TDP rule in the state, he assured them that if voted to power, the party would continue to work for their welfare.
Urging people to vote for the TDP in the residuary state of AP and the BJP at the Centre, he said it would help in the development of the new state as the TDP would be a part of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance and thus be able to secure adequate central funds for the purpose.
'The State (Seemandhra) can only get developed in all spheres of activity with me at the helm of affairs in the state and Narendra Modi as Prime Minister,' Naidu said.
Later, he visited the residence of former MLA Masala Eranna, who died on Thursday due to age-related problems, in Alur town and consoled his family members, including former MLC M Padmaja and M Gopi. Senior party leader CM Ramesh and party leaders BT Naidu and Silpa Chakrapani Reddy were also present.
