Chopper gives scary moments to Jairam, Ponnala ADILABAD: Union Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh, TPCC president Ponnala Laxmaiah, former deputy CM Damodar Raja Narisimha and former minister Uttam Kumar Reddy faced some tense and scary moments (20 minutes, to be exact) when the helicopter they were travelling in could not land at the ZP school ground in Asifadad due to lack of landing clearance from the authorities concerned and the pilot circled over the nearby Tiryani forest.
Finally, he landed at the ground after getting the necessary clearance and the foursome breathed a sigh of relief. The four leaders had come to the town to address an election rally.
Later, speaking at the rally, Ponnala sought to know how TRS president K Chandrasekhar could say that his party would support the Third Front, knowing that most of its members had opposed the formation of Telangana.
He reiterated that it was Congress president Sonia Gandhi who had secured statehood for Telangana in pursuance of the promise she had made to the people of Telangana.
