Pawan likes to play watchdog role HYDERABAD: A day after he had used fiery words to attack TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao for criticising BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Jana Sena founder and film actor Pawan Kalyan on Sunday toned down his criticism of Rao to some extent.
While addressing whistle-stop meetings in and around Hyderabad on Sunday evening as part of his first leg of campaigning in support of the TDP-BJP combine, Pawan Kalyan continued to warn the TRS chief against making any offensive remarks against Modi.
'I don't spare anybody who belittles our leaders of national repute like Narendra Modi. I urge all of you to reject those leaders who make irresponsible comments,' he said.
Stating that he was even ready to go to jail for the sake of achieving Golden Telangana, the actor-turned-politico promised voters that he would play a watchdog role in the new State.
'You may be thinking that like several other politicos I too will come to you only after another five years, that is at the next poll. But I am not such a person. I will always be with you,' Pawan assured the voters.
Reiterating his oft-repeated slogan 'Congress Hatao, Desh Bachao', the film actor called upon the people to vote for the TDP-BJP alliance in the ensuing polls in the interests of the State and the nation. 'The TDP-BJP combine alone will keep the new state on development track,' Pawan said.
