Bypoll in Allagadda if YSRC wins election HYDERABAD: The Election Commission clarified that YSRC candidate Shobha Nagi Reddy, who died in a road accident last week, will still be treated as a candidate in the elections to Allagadda assembly constituency and if she gets elected, a byelection will be held.
This was communicated to the YSR Congress, by the Election commission when the latter sought a clarification on this. It may be recalled that the YSRC candidate Shobha Nagi Reddy died in a road accident last week. However, the Election Commission did not countermand the election as YSR Congress is not a recognized party.
Shobha Nagi Reddy's name was already included on the ballot paper by that time, she remained a contesting candidate on the ballot paper.
''The Election Commission has said that if Shobha Nagi Reddy gets majority votes and wins the election, a re-election will be ordered in such an event,' party spokesman Gattu Ramachandra Rao said here on Monday.
