Harish Rao serves legal notice on Pawan HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader T Harish Rao slapped a legal notice on actor-turned-politician and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan for making a public statement that the former had business deals with former Andhra Pradesh Congress Comittee president Botcha Satyanarayana.
In a statement here, Harish's advocate T Sriranga Rao said his client Harish Rao shall be constrained to proceed against Pawan Kalyan by initiating criminal and civil proceedings if the latter fails to tender unconditional apology to Harish Rao through print and electronic media within two days from the date of receipt of the notice.
Appropriate steps would be initiated in the competent court of law by filing civil and criminal cases for claiming damages and punishment.
The statement made by Pawan Kalyan was intended to defame his client in public and to cause loss to him in the general elections scheduled to take place on April 30.
The actor has made a 'false' statement that his client, Harish Rao, had a nexus with the people belonging to Seemandhra and those who are against the cause of creation of a separate state of Telangana, the advocate said.
According to sources, another case has been registered against the actor for his comments on Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao. The Jana Sena Party president is yet to respond to the notice.
