Modi's popularity making KCR nervous: BJP HYDERABAD: Describing the Telangana Rashtra Samiti as 'B' team of the Congress, BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar has said that with his party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's popularity on the rise in Telangana, TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao has started panicking and is trying to demonise Modi by projecting him as anti-Telangana.
Speaking to reporters here, Javadekar said that with the growing support to Modi in Telangana, KCR, Congress and MIM had become nervous and were targeting Modi. 'KCR has stooped to abusive politics and is calling Modi 'sanyasi', 'enemy' and 'insane',' he said.
Javadekar said that the more the opposition abused Modi the more he would emerge stronger and confident. 'With every abuse, the opponents of Modi will lose five seats,' he quipped.
'The attitude of KCR is an indication of his nervousness, desperation and fear of losing. It has become clear that the TRS is sure to lose the polls. So, KCR, to divert the attention of the people, is targeting Modi and trying to project him as anti-Telangana.'
The BJP leader said that though Modi had never said that he would make Hyderabad a Union Territory after coming to power at the Centre, KCR was spreading canard that the future BJP government at the Centre would make Hyderabad a Union Territory.
'The BJP has always projected Hyderabad as the permanent capital of Telangana state and joint capital for 10 years. In fact, it has opposed making Hyderabad a UT,' he clarified.
The senior BJP leader said that the TRS chief was not only targeting Modi but also creating fear among the people of Seemandhra. 'KCR is calling the people of Seemandhra 'demons' and saying that he will block water flow to that region and even threatening to throw Seemandhras out of Hyderabad. But the BJP believes in one- nation philosophy.'
Coming down heavily on the Congress, Javadekar said Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Jairam Ramesh were spreading lies about BJP and Modi.
'The Congress expected to win hands down in Telangana but when it has realised that the BJP is gaining in the region it has started spreading lies about its role in the passage of T-bill. If not for BJP's support Telangana would not have been a reality,' Javadekar said.
