NRI voter force Chiru to stand in queue Hyderabad, April 30 (INN): Union Minister K Chiranjeevi and his family members were forced to stand in a queue to cast their vote at a polling booth in Jubilee Hills.
Chiranjeevi, along with his wife and actor son Ram Charan, came to the polling booth at about 9.30 AM. Although he was standing in the queue, they were being prodded by some fans and security personnel.
Chiranjeevi then decided to jump the queue to cast his vote. However, he was stopped by a voter, Karthik, who flew from London to cast his vote. Stating that he does not need any special treatment, he asked Chiranjeevi and his family members to stand in the queue to cast their votes.
Apparent in view of of the presence of large number of media personnel, Chiranjeevi went back to the queue. Speaking to media persons after casting his vote, Chiranjeevi clarified that he did not break any rules and was standing in the queue. He said he came out of the queue only to double check his name in the voters' list.
The polling in this particular booth got delayed by over one hour as one of the EVM was defective. Actor Sumanth and a few other celebrities waited for one hour in the line to cast their vote.
