BJP-TDP combo failed to address state issues: Jagan Kaikaluru (Krishna dist) May 1: Calling the bluff of BJP-TDP promise of development, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said the same combination during its 1999-2004 term has done nothing to the state and it has been playing opportunist politics by running with the hare in Telangana and hunting with the hound in Seemandhra.
'Just a few hours of after the polling was completed in Telangana region, the leaders went to Tirupati blowing their own trumpet of development, which was not there, and started singing the Seemandhra tune even as TDP and BJP have voted in for the Bill to divide the state and both parties have sought their pound of flesh in Telangana region.
On the Seemandhra dais they began drumming up the Semmandraha song with Modi and others chanting the development mantra without naming what the NDA had done during 1999-2004 while it was in power,' he said in a public meeting here on Thursday.
'This is raw opportunism. Modi was speaking of development and about smaller states. The NDA has carved our three smaller states Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Uttaranchal with Raipur, Ranchi and Dehradun as capital cities. Till today these cities do not have an international airport and it is sad that the BJP-TDP leaders speak of development.
The NDA government has said that it will give Rs 10,000 crores for developing Raipur as a capital city but has given just Rs 400 crores. The three cities do not have any super specialty hospitals, he said.
Modi speaks of a 1,000 km coast line of Seemandhra now, the extent was the same even in 1999-2004 but there was no focus on it then. He tells of gas and petroleum that can be extracted from our cost but never says how much of it will be given to our state.
This is only election talk aimed at winning some votes and seats.
Chandrababu Niadu and BJP leaders have toured the Telangana region claiming responsibility for dividing the state and when in Seemandhra they are blaming YSRCP for the division which is irrational. Naidu, of all the people, started speaking on corruption.
When he began his political career, he only had two acres of land. Now he is a multi-millionaire and his family-run Heritage Foods has a wide network. He has been on a Save Congress mission all the time only to save his skin as he is facing severe corruption charges in Emaar and IMG cases.
While CBI came after me as I left Congress, it has shielded Naidu on some pretext or the other. The law which was applied to Jagan Mohan Reddy was not applied to Chandrababau Naidu. 'These divisive forces and opportunists should be defeated and I appeal you to vote for YSRCP fan symbol and win all 25 MPs seats to see all round development and welfare,' he said.
