Naidu, Purandeswari shares dais, avoids eye contact MADANAPALLE: TDP and BJP may be allies but relations between the Nara and Daggubati families haven't improved one bit. Though politicians from the two families, N Chandrababu Naidu and Purandeswari, shared the dais here Thursday, they didn't even so much as smile at each other.
However, Naidu took her name at the end of the meeting or perhaps, he had to as Purandeswari is contesting from the Rajampet Lok Sabha constituency as a BJP candidate.
Purandeswari came along with her two daughters well before scheduled time. Her husband, D Venkateswara Rao, too joined her.
Naidu and Rao, haven't been on the best of terms for well over a decade ever since the former took control of the TDP. After parting ways with Naidu, Rao joined the BJP and later, the Congress. Since then, the two families have been at loggerheads.
Purandeswari, who spoke first, did not take Naidu's name. Neither did she look at him. Naidu, however, urged voters to vote for her at the fag end of his speech just when murmurs began.
