Notice to Uttam Kumar over burnt cash Hyderabad: The police issued notices to former MLA and working president of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Photon Energy Systems in connection with burnt currency of Rs 1.5 lakh, found in a stranded car bearing the sticker of the former MLA on April 30.
Nalgonda Superintendent of Police, T Prabhakar Rao, said that they sent notices to former MLA and Photon Energy Systems, the firm on whose name the vehicle was registered, for recovery of the burnt cash.
He said that investigation is on to determine the source of the cash and also the person who was transporting the cash. 'We are trying to locate the driver of the vehicle who is still absconding. Key information would be available only after apprehending the driver,' Rao said.
Another official said that a police team will question the owner of the vehicle and probe whether he had any role in transportation of the cash.
It may be recalled that bundles of notes with denominations of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 were found burnt in the Innova car (AP 09 BT 8289) bearing a sticker of the former Huzurnagar MLA near Suryapet in Nalgonda.Police will question the owner of the vehicle and probe whether he had any role in transportation of the cash.
