TRS is on cloud nine, sure of forming govt
HYDERABAD: After the high percentage of polling in Telangana at the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections on Wednesday, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi's leadership is on cloud nine.
'The increase in polling percentage will be advantageous to the TRS. The first government in Telangana will be formed by TRS,' party secretary general and MP K Keshava Rao told reporters here.
'Now we have two tasks on our hand: good governance reflecting the aspirations of the people who participated in the movement for statehood and implementation of assurances given in the party's manifesto,' he said.
'Basic needs like welfare, development and education will be on the priority list of the TRS government which will start fulfilling all the promises from day one of formation of the government.'
On elections, Rao said liquor and money flowed like anything. 'The EC should take action against Seemandhra leaders, who made provocative speeches during campaigning. It should register suo motu cases against them,' he demanded.
Politburo member Jitender Reddy exuded confidence that it would be a clean-sweep for the TRS.
