Mill worker's daughter secures state first rank KARIMNAGAR: Naguru Divya, the daughter of a poor mill worker in Kolhapur in Maharastra, and a student of Alphores Junior College (AJC) here has secured the first rank in the state in the Inter II year examination (BiPC stream), the results of which were announced on Saturday.
The bright girl, who hails from Jannaram mandal in Adilabad district, secured with 989 marks of 1000, doing both the college authorities and her parents happy and proud.
Daughter of Naguru Satyam, a mill hand working in the production department of a cloth mill in Kolhapur in Maharastra, had consistently been a bright student.
In her SSC exam, for which she had studied in the Satavahana High School in Jagitial, she had secured a grade of 9.8 out of 10.
Impressed by her academic record, Alphores Education Institutions director/chairman V Narender Reddy had offered her a free seat in the Intermediate course in the AJC.
In the Inter I year exam in 2013, she had secured the fourth position in the state. While Divya's father was overjoyed at her achievement, Narender Reddy and JAC staff congratulated her on doing their college proud.
Later, Divya told newsmen that her ambition was to become a doctor and serve the poor. She thanked the JAC authorities and her parents for the encouragement they had given her so far.
