YSRC complains to EC against Pawan HYDERABAD: YSR Congress Party general secretary K Shiva Kumar has appealed to chief electoral officer Bhanwar Lal to take action against 'selfstyled politician-cum-Tollywood actor Pawan Kalyan'.
In a memorandum to the chief electoral officer submitted here on Sunday, the YSR Congress leader said that Pawan Kalyan committed a serious election crime while appealing to a gathering at an election meeting that took place at Tekkali in Srikakulam district.
The YSR Congress leader told Bhanwar Lal that Jana Sena Party president wanted the voters to accept bribes/ gratification in whichever manner ' if offered ' and urged them to vote in favour of the Telugu Desam Party.
'This is nothing but encouraging the people to accept bribes and is a serious crime. It is not acceptable by law,' he said. The YSR Congress Party also submitted media reports which reported Pawan Kalyan's speech asking voters to accept bribes and urged the Chief Electoral Officer to take suitable action against the Tollywood star.
It requested Bhanwar Lal to uphold the spirit of true democracy in the larger interest of justice by taking action against the Jana Sena Party chief. Pawan Kalyan didn't comment on the complaint.
