Naidu says YSRC leaders are smugglers KADAPA: Taking on the YSRC on its home turf of Kadapa, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu Sunday said the former CM, the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy's family is a family of thieves and the family has looted lakhs of crores of money using power.
With less than a day left for canvassing, Naidu held a whirlwind tour in Budwel and Proddutur constituencies seeking the mandate of the people for the party candidates.
Speaking at meetings at Budwel and Proddutur, Naidu said that when the TD was in power, they took steps for growth and preserving red sanders in the Seshachalam forests.
'But, the YSRC leaders have cut down the trees, smuggled them to foreign countries and have made lakhs of crores of money,' he alleged.
Alleging that the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy had looted the state, Naidu predicted that Jagan Mohan Reddy will have to land up in prison in a year from now.
Doling out promises, the TD chief announced to set up an Urdu University in Proddutur as there is a good number of Muslims in the Assembly segment.
Similarly, he also assured to complete works on the flood flow canal of Kundu-Penna and bring water to Proddutur to quench the thirst of the people there.
