I am more qualified to rebuild AP says Naidu

TENALI: Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu made a promise to every section of voters and fired salvos at his YSRC counterpart YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in his every sentence of his speech.

Simultaneously, he tried to persuade voters that being a veteran, he is more eligible to reconstruct the truncated Andhra Pradesh than Jagan Mohan Reddy, 'who is new to administration'.

This was the way Naidu concluded his two-month long campaign at Tenali in Guntur district on Monday evening for Wednesday's elections in Seemandhra.

The TDP chief, who has been doling out numerous assurances to every section of voters across Seemandhra so as to become the first chief minister of the residuary State of AP ever since the state was bifurcated, continued his spree of promises even on the last day of the poll campaign.

The new ones included making every lorry driver a lorry owner if he came to power. The TDP chief also assured every auto-driver and cab driver that he would help them own the vehicles themselves.

After that, he promised that he would connect all the 13 districts in the region with a bullet train service to cut down the travel time to two hours between any two farthest districts.

Reiterating his promises of waiving off crop loans, providing employment for a person in every family, free education from KG to PG to children of the downtrodden classes, the former chief minister once again promised BC status to Kapus, one of the dominant castes in Coastal Andhra.

He then went on to recall his latest promise of creating two deputy chief minister posts ' one to Kapus and another to BCs ' if he was voted to power. He once again tried to win over the hearts of Seemandhra electors, saying that he would transform the truncated AP into Singapore and develop it on a par with the US and China.

Vitriolic attack

Before winding up his campaign, the TDP chief raised his voice against Jagan Mohan Reddy and called him a psycho. He described the fledgling YSRC as a party of thieves and robbers.

'We all have classmates. We are proud of recalling our classmates. But, in the YSRC, there are jail-mates and cell-mates. It is a party of bandits and dacoits. Beware of that party, which has given tickets to thieves and bandits,' he warned the voters.

Earlier in the day, Naidu addressed a series of public meetings at Giddalur, Chilakaluripet and Avanigadda and hurled choicest of invectives at Jagan Reddy and appealed to the voters not to vote for the YSRC. 'If you want development, TDP is the party for you. It can safeguard your interests,' he said.

Naidu basks in tollywood glory

Hailing Tenali as 'Andhra Paris', Naidu claimed that entire Telugu film industry was with him now. 'Dear Tammullu (brothers), entire Telugu tinsel town is backing our party. Balakrishna is with us.

Even Pawan Kalyan has campaigned for the TDP-BJP combine, now another film hero Mahesh Babu is also throwing his weight behind our party. He has endorsed the candidature of his brother-in-law Galla Jayadev for the Guntur Lok Sabha seat,' Naidu said.
