Heavy rains likely in coastal AP, Telangana Hyderabad : A well-marked low pressure area over Comrin and its neighbourhood is likely to concentrate into a depression by Wednesday and move northwards.
According to met scientist Narsimha Rao, while south Tamil Nadu and Kerala would get good rains, moderate to heavy rains or thundershowers would occur at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema and at isolated places over Telangana during next 72 hours.
Narsimha Rao said that in twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad the sky conditions would be generally cloudy. Rain or thundershowers would occur in parts of the city.
Meanwhile, isolated rains occurred over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Rayalaseema on Tuesday. In Telangana, Sangareedy (Medak), Pargi (Ranga Reddy), Wanaparthy (Mahbubnagar) and Chevella (Ranga Reddy) experienced rains.
Maximum temperatures fell at one or two places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Telangana. The temperatures were below normal at one or two places over Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra Pradesh, and appreciably below normal at a few places over Telangana.
The highest maximum temperature was recorded at 44 degrees Celsius in Rentachintala. Rao said that so far no severe heat wave conditions was reported due to increased thunderstorm activity.
However, heat wave conditions could be experienced mid-May if no thunderstorm activity was formed, he added. The three regions recorded temperatures below normal by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.
