Parties huddle together tying up loose ends GUNTUR: With the polling for the 25 Lok Sabha and 175 Assembly segments in Seemandhra is to commence, all the contestants from various political parties Tuesday were seen busy making their last-ditch efforts to improve their electoral prospects.
If the bosses of their respective political parties spent the whole day by holding teleconferences with cadres and booth-level agents of their parties and gave them tips on poll management, contestants held meetings with their supporters and party workers at their residences to take care of the sympathisers of their respective parties so that the latter won't miss to cast their vote.
For instance, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday confined himself to his residence in Hyderabad and held a series of meetings with his party seniors and issued directions to them with regard to poll management.
Simultaneously, the TDP president held teleconference with his party cadres and booth-level agents across Seemandhra and asked them to be vigilant on the polling day.
YSRC chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy too held telephonic conversation with his party candidates in various segments and key leaders in those segments and gave them some suggestions on how to be attentive and cautious on the polling day.
According to sources, both Naidu and Jagan during their teleconferences focused their attention on ensuing that a large number of voters exercise their franchise in the traditional strongholds of their respective parties.
They also issued some directions to their 'local cadres' on making a dent into the vote bank of their rivals.
Almost all the contestants on Tuesday held 'indoor meetings' with their followers. They also met village headmen and heads of various castes for their 'blessings'.
