Jagan hints at post-poll alliance with NDA Kadapa: Polling for 25 Lok Sabha constituencies and 175 Legislative Assembly seats in Seemandhra began this morning on a brisk note.
YSR Congress Party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy cast his vote at Pulivendula. Jagan received a warm welcome from booth officers as he was accompanied by many number of his followers.
After casting vote Jagan addressed media and expressed confidence on winning majority seats. Exuding confidence the young leader said that the party will see a clear sweep in Seemandhra. Speaking to a leading national news channel, YS Jagan dismissed reports of the tough contest between TDP and YSRCP.
When the reporter asked about seemingly the close fight between YSRCP and TDP, Jagan said "that is only your report. It will be a clean sweep, watch my word for it."
He also opens up about post 'pol alliances and said his party was open for it. YS Jagan said that they are keeping all their options open for post-poll alliances.
"Why should we be in a hurry to support somebody. We have no pre-poll alliances or understanding with anybody," he said. When asked if there was a Modi wave, YS Jagan reiterated, 'It will be clear in a few days' time.
The words of Jagan surprised all and it clearly indicates his interest on alliancing with BJP.
Earlier also Jagan has made it amply clear in a few TV interviews that he is not averse to aligning his YSR Congress with the BJP and Modi, describing the latter as a "modern day politician who has eschewed the archaic thought process."
Meanwhile, YSRC is confident that it would secure a very comfortable majority, perhaps an absolute, majority in Seemandhra region both in the Assembly and Lok Sabha, enabling it to form the government in the residual Andhra Pradesh.
