72% voting recorded in Seemandhra polling
Hyderabad, May 7 (INN): More than 72 per cent polling was recorded till 5 PM on Wednesday in 13 districts of Seemandhra which went to polls for 175 Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats.
According to officials, Krishna had 71.71%, Guntur - 74%, Prakasam - 73.5%, Nellore - 69%, Kadapa - 71%, Kurnool - 69%, Anantapur - 73%, Chittoor - 72.1%; Srikakulam - 72%, Vizianagaram - 70.71%, Visakhapatnam - 67%, East Godavari - 72% an West Godavari has recorded polling of 69.09% till 5 PM.
Initially, till 9 AM, the polling percentage was 15% and nearly 33% percent voters excercised their franchise till 1 PM. Barring sporadic incidents of violence, the polling has been peaceful in the Seemandhra region.
