Padmavathi Ammavaru's haram found inside temple TIRUPATI: The officials of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) heaved a sigh of relief after finding the gold ornament which went missing in the temple of Goddess Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru at Tiruchanur three days ago, inside the sanctum-sanctorum of the temple on Friday.
According to TTD local temple special grade deputy executive officer Bhaskar Reddy, the golden Kasula Haram weighing 217.8 grams which adorned the main deity went missing from May 6 while the temple staff were conducting Koil Alwar Tirumanajan ritual (cleansing ceremony) in connection with the ensuing annual Vasanthotsavam of the temple from May 13.
The temple priests and officials brought the issue to the notice of the higher officials. Meanwhile on Friday, when the temple staff conducted Abhisekham to Padmavathy Ammavaru, they observed water stagnation inside the sanctum-sanctorum as the water outlet was clogged with flowers and turmeric.
While removing the flowers and turmeric, the staff found the precious ornament and immediately informed temple priests and officials. After cleaning the Haram, it was put in its place on the deity. In a press release, the TTD officials said that the ornament was not lifted by anyone and was safe in the temple itself.
