Dokka decries huge spending by candidates HYDERABAD: Former minister Dokka Manikya Varaprasad has described as a disturbing trend in democracy the spending of huge amounts of money by contestants in the recent general election.
Speaking to mediapersons here, he said that the contestants did not care for the money that they were spending as though their very life depended on victory.
'Those who would lose the election would cry at the counting centres and those who win would cry after reaching home,' he said and remarked that several contestants had turned into paupers overnight and come under deep depression.
Referring to the poll trends, he said that people in Seemandhra had voted against Chandrababu Naidu and Narendra Modi. This might benefit YSRC, he said.
