Cong, TRS lock horns for Medak ZP chief post SANGAREDDY: The Congress and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) are in a close fight to grab the Zilla Parishad chairman post. TRS is slightly ahead of Congress in the ZPTC elections results, counting for which which began Tuesday morning and is expected to continue till late in the night. It will be clear on Wednesday who will claim lead over Medak ZP chairman post.
TRS is leading in majority ZPTCs in Siddipet, Dubbaka, Medak, Sangareddy and Narsapur Assembly segments, while Congress and TDP were leading in ZPTCs in Gajwel, Wargal, Jagadevpur, Toopran mandals.
Surprisingly, TDP was leading in ZPTC and MPTC elections in Gajwel Assembly segment from where TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao contested for Assembly elections. With the civic and ZP results in favour of TDP in Gajwel, the TRS workers were worried over the outcome of the Assembly elections. However, the TRS leadership is confident that KCR would win with good majority in the polls.
As per the reports till 8 pm for ZPTC and MPTC elections, TRS was leading in 20 ZPTCs, Cong in 13 ZPTCs and the TDP in four ZPTCs.
