Naidu may take oath in Tirupati on June 2 Hyderabad: Hyderabad, May 17 (INN): Telugu Desam Party president Nara Chandrababu Naidu may take oath as the Chief Minister of residuary State of Andhra Pradesh in the temple town of Tirupati.
According to sources, Naidu is considering taking oath on June 2, the Appointed Day for new state of Andhra Pradesh, at Tirupati as he considers the town as lucky for him.
He, along with Narendra Modi and Pawan Kalyan, launched his campaign in Seemandhra region from Tirupati and returned to power after a decade. It also falls in his home district Chittoor.
According to party sources Naidu is said to be opting for Tirupati or somewhere between Vijayawada-Guntur stretch. Party leaders say that Naidu personally prefers Tirupati as it happens to be the abode of Lord Venkateswara and also because it is his home town. The date of oath taking will be decided soon.
Vijayawada, the party leadership feels was being preferred as second option since it is ahead in the race for being the new capital of Andhra Pradesh. Incidentally Krishna district also happens to be the native district of the party founder president N T Rama Rao.
Naidu thanked the people for giving a clear victory to the party and reiterated that he would fulfill all the promises he had made both during his walkathon as well as during the election campaign.
He also thanked the BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, BJP president Rajnath Singh and Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan for their support to the TDP.
