Swearing-in of MLAs not before June 2 HYDERABAD: There is confusion over when the MLAs elected in the general elections would be sworn in. Will they be sworn in as MLAs of Telangana and AP, or will they be first sworn in in the AP Assembly and allocated to AP and Telangana states after June 2?
According to highly placed sources, the MLAs who have been elected would have to wait until June 2 when the Governor would administer oath to the chief ministers of both the states.
After this, the two Assemblies would be called, where a pro tem speaker would be appointed who would administer oath to the MLAs.
According to sources in the Assembly, for MLAs to be sworn in, the Assembly has to be in session. 'It is not yet clear whether it would be Telangana and Andhra Assemblies or AP Assembly,' they said.
