Governor reviews bifurcation process with top officials Hyderabad, May 18 (INN): Governor ESL Narasimhan has reviewed the progress of process of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh with senior officials in a high-level meeting held at Sudharma Block of Raj Bhavan here on Sunday.
Besides approving four-month budgets for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States, the Governor reviewed several other important issues.
Chief Secretary Dr PK Mohanty has informed the Governor that under Schedule X, another 38 institutions will be added in addition to the 107 institutions and a proposal will be sent to the Government of India.
Principal Secretary Irrigation Nagi Reddy informed that under AP Reorganization Act, Irrigation department has noticed certain discrepancies related to Krishna River Management Board and 16 other projects which are currently under construction on Krishna and Godavari basins which were not mentioned in the Schedule IX.
The Governor has accepted the proposal to forward it to Government of India for making necessary amendment in the Act.
The Chief Secretary has informed that the bifurcation of files was completed and process of digitalization is also completed. He has also informed that the bifurcation of movable and immovable assets and vehicles were also completed.
All the committees constituted for State bifurcation process have submitted their recommendations and the reports will be sent to the Government of India, he added.
In this context, the Chief Secretary said, new Advisory and Apex committees of the State reorganization would be re-constituted.
The new Committee will have Kamalnathan as its Chairman and its members will be the Chief Secretaries of both AP and Telangana States, Secretaries to Government, Departments of Home, Finance, and Law of both the States. The Secretary of AP Reorganisation department will be the member secretary.
Similarly, the Apex Committee will be reconstituted as both the Chief Secretaries as Co-Chairman, Secretaries to Government, Planning, Home, Finance, Irrigation, Energy, Higher Education, Industries, Public Enterprise, Industries, and Revenue are the members.
The Institutions under Schedule IX, the companies and corporations will have to submit their demerger plans to three-member expert committee.
During the meeting, the issues related to All India Service Officers and State government officials were also reviewed. The guidelines proposed for allocation of government quarters were also approved.
The Governor has also approved the common admission procedure and continuation of various quota in the higher educational institutions for the next 10 years beginning from June 2.
Advisors to the Governor, Spl. Chief Secretaries SP Tucker, SK Sinha, Pradeep Chandra, Dr. N. Ramesh Kumar, Prl Secretaries Ajay Kalam, PV Ramesh, Ramakrishna Rao, Siva Sankar and other senior officers attended the meeting.
