HUL to Map Govt High Schools
Hyderabad, May 20: Government Schools are now the most neglected public properties getting exploited from all the directions said Anant Maringanti, founder of Hyderabad Urban Lab (HUL). To begin with we are trying to put all the Government High Schools in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts on a Map, he said. Right now we have the list of schools in these two districts but we don't have their actual address or street names. It is important to put these on a map and build a database around them because government schools often have public property associated with them and in a city where even the government is constantly trying to monetize land, Anant explained.
As people try to occupy the school lands, the entire school faces a threat and extinction, he said.
He made a request on the social media to everyone to help Hyderabad Urban Lab with it's Mapping project of public properties. Please help us with ideas on how we can do this - can people help us get the addresses or help us areawise identify an online map where the school is located, he said in his social media post.
