TDP chief meets Guv, urges transparent split Hyderabad: TDP president and chief minister designate of newly formed Seemandhra state Nara Chandrababu Naidu met Andhra Pradesh Governor E S L Narasimhan and requested him to observe transparency in bifurcation of the State on Monday.
He also asked the Governor to do equal justice to the newly formed Telangana and Seemandhra State in the ongoing division process.
Naidu met Narasimhan for the first time after clinching victory in Seemandhra region at Raj Bhavan along with party MLAs.
Addressing media persons after the meeting, Naidu took strong exception at the way the bifurcation process was going on in the State and added that no politician was being consulted by authorities for the transparent division of the state.
He said that he was also not aware of the developments that were taking place as part of the bifurcation of the state.'I worked as CM of AP for nine long years. I also discharged responsibilities as an opposition leader for 10 long years.
Even I am not being consulted by the authorities for smooth and transparent execution of the bifurcation process. I do not have any knowledge about the way the bifurcation is going on,' he said.
Naidu stressed that there is a strong need to keep the interests of both the new states to ensure their balanced development. He alleged that the 10 year long corrupt Congress Party rule ruined Andhra Pradesh.
Noting that the TDP has its presence in both the new states, Naidu said that the party would work hard for the development of the both states.
'Telangana state has power and irrigation problems while the Seemandhra state requires development from scratch. As a party which has presence in both the states, the TDP has a huge responsibility on its shoulders. We will work hard to address these problems by working hard,' he said.
