Naidu's first cabinet with 18 members? Hyderabad: With Chandrababu Naidu set to take over as the first chief minister of residuary state, focus has now shifted to the composition of his cabinet.
Amid hectic lobbying for berths, Naidu, in consultation with senior leaders is understood to have prepared a provisional list of 18 ministers for the 25-member cabinet.
As he has to strike a fine balance between caste and regional factors, Naidu is said to have prepared a provisional list of 14 members across various communities. The allowed strength of the cabinet is 25 including the CM, as it must be 15 per cent of the size of the state assembly which has 175 members.
As we know Chandra Babu had promised two deputy Chief minister posts one for a BC and another for Kapu. KE Krishna Murthy from Rayalaseema region may be almost confirmed in the BC quota.Ghanta Srinivasa Rao or Nimmakayala Chinnarajappa or Kala Venkat Rao are in the race for Kapu quota Deputy Chief Minister.
Other side senior leaders Kodela Siva Prasad Rao, Paritala Sunita, Buchaiah Chowdary, Ayanna Patrudu, Dhulipalla Narendra, Devineni Uma are almost certain to receive cabinet berth. Chandrabbu brother in law and Hero Nandamuri Balakrishna name also considered for ministry post.
Meanwhile the TDP chief left for New Delhi to participate in NDA parliamentary board maating and he is expected to meet Narendra Modi, who is going to be the Prime Minister.
Naidus likely to discuss with Modi issues like induction of few TDP MPs in the Union council of Ministers, giving important portfolios to them, the Capital of Andhra Pradesh, financial support to the residuary State, etc.
According to sources, Naidu is considering taking oath on June 2, the Appointed Day, at Tirupati as he considers the town as lucky for him.
