Ganta, China Rajappa, Yanamala in Deputy CM race Hyderabad: With the appointed date for the formation of Telangana fast approaching, the race of the posts of two Deputy Chief Ministers in the residuary State is getting intensified.
It may be mentioned here that Naidu had during his election campaign promised to have two Deputy Chief Ministers ' one from Kapu community and the other from BC community. So far, he has been keeping his cards close to his chest on this issue.
However, not to lose a chance, several leaders from both these communities called on Naidu at his house. They include seniors like N Chinna Rajappa who has been a trusted leader from Peddapuram in East Godavari district, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Kalva Srinivasulu and Chintakayala Ayyannapatrudu.
Party sources say that Chinna Rajappa stands a better chance since he belongs to the Kapu community and has been a loyal party leader for a very long time.
If Naidu picks up Rajappa as Deputy Chief Minister from Kapu community, then the BC Dy CM will have to be chosen from Rayalaseema or Coastal region.
Sources say that Naidu may not give Dy CM post to any BC from Rayalaseema since he himself is from the region. However, in case Naidu decides to have his deputy also from Rayalaseema, K E Krishnamurthy and Kagitha Venkata Rao both from Gouda community and Kaluva Srinivasulu who belong to Boya community are said to be in the race.
