Monsoon to hit Seema in June second week Hyderabad: The southwest monsoon has further advanced into remaining parts of the Andaman Sea and some more parts of southeast Bay of Bengal and east-central Bay.
Conditions are favourable for further advance of the monsoon into some more parts of south and central Bay during the next 48 hours. The monsoon is likely to hit the Kerala coast in the first week of June.
It may enter Rayalaseema and south coastal Andhra in June second week. Meanwhile, rain occurred at isolated places in coastal Andhra and Telangana, while dry weather prevailed in Rayalaseema.
Araku Valley received three cm of rainfall. The maximum temperatures appreciably fell at one or two places in coastal Andhra, Telangana and changed little in Rayalaseema.
The highest maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius was recorded in Rentachintala. While Ramagundam, Adilabad recorded 43 degrees C each, Nalgonda had a high of 42 degrees C. Mahabubnagar, Nellore, Nizamabad, Anantapur, Kurnool, Nandyal, Tirupati recorded 41 degrees C each.
The Met office forecast rain or thunder showers at isolated places in coastal Andhra, Telangana and Rayalaseema during the next 48 hours. In Hyderabad, the sky will be partly cloudy.
Rain or thundershowers will occur in parts of the city. The maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 40 and 29 degrees Celsius respectively during the next two days.
