TDP all set to join Modi cabinet New Delhi: TDP, which contested the elections in alliance with BJP, will be joining the Narendra Modi led NDA government at the Centre. This was confirmed by TDP president Chandrababu Naidu, who turned up for NDA meeting in Delhi on Tuesday to media.
Naidu one time chief negotiator of the NDA, is back to a place of pride in the alliance after a full decade. That Naidu is back with a bang in the NDA was evident during the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting this afternoon in the historic Central Hall of Parliament.
The NDA unanimously elected Narendra Modi as its leader in the meet. Besides extending all out support to Modi in the meet, Naidu also accompanied NaMo to Rashtrapati Bhawan to stake claim to form the next govt at the centre.
Not much seems to have gone wrong with Naidu ever since he started negotiating with the BJP top leadership to renew ties with the NDA.
Though some bitterness cropped up over BJP and TDP's contradictory stand on Telangana, the alliance eventually worked out on both sides of the Andhra divide for assembly as well as Lok Sabha polls.
With Naidu all set to form govt in Seemandhra and the BJP coming back to power with a thumping majority, the going looks positive for both.
As the NDA meet got underway, NDA working chairman LK Advani greeted Chandrababu Naidu warmly for coming back to the fold. Advani also recalled how Naidu had played a prominent role in the alliance before breaking up with them.
Addressing the MPs meet, Naidu expressed faith that the govt under Modi would fulfill each of its promises and take the country forward on the path of growth. He promised all out support to the govt in all its efforts.
Narendra Modi, who spoke at the end, assured each of the allies that the BJP scoring the majority mark on its mark did not mean the allies were not important anymore.
'You are as important as you would have been had the BJP not scored the magic figure on its own', he assured. Modi's assurance is seen as an indication that the allies would have affair share in the governance.
