Yanamala. Gorantla vie for for cabinet berth RAJAHMUNDRY: Now the race for cabinet berths has begun in the district among the 12 Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLAs-elect.
TDP politburo member and MLC Yanamala Ramakrishnudu is in the frontline, followed by Rajahmundry Rural MLA-elect Gorantla Buchaiah Choudary and his Peddapuram counterpart Nimmakayala Chinna Rajappa. As Yanamala Ramakrishnudu is sure getting a Cabinet berth, the main aspirants are Rajappa and Choudary.
It is learnt that party president and chief minister-designate Nara Chandrababu Naidu has decided to give Finance portfolio to Ramakrishnudu. He was earlier finance minister and assembly speaker.
Buchaiah Choudary too was civil supplies minister and planning board vice-chairman. Rajappa ran the party for 20 years in the district and was MLC and now won from Peddapuram constituency.
It was stated that Chandrababu Naidu would take caste equations into consideration while forming his Cabinet.
