Join building AP, Naidu urges people HYDERABAD: Chief minister-designate of the residual state of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu has called upon the people of Seemandhra to take part in the reconstruction of the truncated state to transform it into a best state in the country.
'Seemandhra should be developed as one of the best states in the country within no time. I call upon every citizen of the Andhra and Rayalaseema regions to contribute their might in this noble task. I assure them that I will work every second for the development of the new state,' he said addressing a large number of visitors at NTR Bhavan here.
Several TDP leaders and workers, industrialists, representatives of government employees and Tollywood actors called on Naidu and congratulated him on leading the party to victory at the general election. Prominent among the visitors are are veteran film actor Kaikala Satyanarayana, hero Ram and APNGO leader P Ashok Babu.
Pensioners Donate Rs 9 Cr for Capital
A delegation of leaders of AP Pensioners' Association led by Purnachandra Rao promised the TDP chief that they would donate half-day pension of 3 lakh pensioners, amounting to Rs 9 Crore, for the construction of capital for the new state.
Naidu decries KCR's threat on AP Staff
Talking with APNGO leaders who called on him, Naidu denounced the threat of his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao that Seemandhra employees would not be allowed in Telangana secretariat.
It was not appropriate for Rao to make provocative remarks against employees of other regions, he said. 'Rao should exercise restraint while speaking on sensitive issues. A leader of that stature should not create law and order problems,' said Naidu.
