Laxman Aelay designs Telangana emblem Hyderabad: Kakatiya Keerthi Thoranam (Victory arch of Kakatiya rulers) of Warangal fort and Charminar, the famous icon of Hyderabad, figure in the official emblem of the Telangana government to come into existence from June 2.
The official emblem of the Telangana government was approved by Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and Chief Minister designate K Chandrasekhara Rao. The emblem, which would be formally ratified by the KCR cabinet later.
The emblem was designed in a round shape with Kakatiya arch in the center and Charminar image below the arch. The Indian government emblem with four Asiatic lions back to back is also seen above the arch.
The circle around them would have words Telangana Government written in Telugu, English and Urdu. Designed by famous Telangana artist Laxman Aelay, the emblem represents two historically prominent dynasties of region of Telangana, the Kakatiya dynasty and that of Quli Qutub Shah. These two symbolizes the northern and southern parts of the region.
