Cobras into house in bid kill its inmate HYDERABAD: The Narayanaguda police have arrested a man who tried to kill his house-owner by releasing cobras into his house. The house-owner, however, saw him release the snakes on the closed-circuit TV installed at his house and alerted the police.
Police, with the assistance of locals, recovered three live cobras from the house and two dead cobras from the bike of the accused. The arrested, Narsinga Rao, is a resident of Lalaguda and is working with the railways.
Narayanaguda police inspector S Bheem Reddy said Amarjit Reddy (35) is a resident of Vithalwadi in Narayanaguda police limits. On new moon nights, some bike-riding strangers would stop by at the house, leave a cobra and ride away. They had done it thrice, Reddy told the police.
Narsinga Rao had lent Rs 2 lakh to Reddy's father Venkatram Reddy, who was AP Olympics Association president in 2009, for a favour. But, Venkatram Reddy failed to do favour to Narsinga Rao and died a few year ago. Bearing a grudge, Rao wanted to kill Venkatram Reddy's family members and thought of this plan to eliminate them.
As it happened on the previous new moon nights, Amarjit Reddy became determined to unravel the cobra mystery and kept awake the new moon night on Wednesday.
He was given company by some locals. While the locals sat in various corners of the Vithalwadi locality, Reddy sat inside his house monitoring the CCTV. Around 9 pm on Wednesday, Narsinga Rao and two others came on a bike and left a bag of three snakes in front of Reddy's house and rode away. The locals, who were waiting on the sidelines, saw the incident, and chased and caught Narsinga Rao, and handed him over to the police.
