JV Ramudu is DGP of AP, Anurag for Telangana HYDERABAD: The way is now clear for senior IPS officer JV Ramudu to take over as Director General of Police of the residuary state of AP.
According to sources, the file relating to Ramudu's appointment has been cleared by the government and orders are likely to be issued on June 2.
Ramudu is due to retire in two months and it remains to be seen how the government would manage to give him an extension.
Meanwhile, the government is toying with the idea of moving the incumbent DGP B Prasada Rao out of the department. There is speculation that he might be asked to head AP Sate Tourism Development Corporation.
The provisional allotment of IPS officers made to Telangana state on Saturday has cleared the way for Hyderabad Commissioner Anurag Sharma to become the DGP of Telangana. He is now the senior most in T, with all his seniors being in residuary AP.
