TDP calls it as KCR's 'Family Cabinet' Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi President K Chandrasekhar Rao sworn in as first Chief Minister of Telangana along with 11 cabinet ministers. The cabinet list includes KCR's family members- nephew T Harish Rao and son K Taraka Rama Rao.
KCR earning criticism for offering two cabinet berths for his family members. Senior leader from Telugu Desam Party and MLA elect Revanth Reddy who is known for his sharp comments accused that the Chief Minister has turned cabinet of ministers into a family package.
"This is KCR's Family Cabinet! 3 out of 12 members who have taken oath Today belong to the khandan of TRS Boss," he points out. The TDP mouthpiece also said that KCR has not taken Mahaboobnagar district into consideration while picking his cabinet.
He opined, "There is no representation for Mahabubnagar district in KCR's cabinet. May be, KCR feels the TRS MLAs from this district are good for nothing". The Telugu Desam Legislator reminded that KCR backtracked on his promise of Dalit Chief Minister.
Apart from his son KT Rama Rao and nephew T Harish Rao - the family is from the upper caste Velama community - KCR's ministry has four Reddys, three members of other backward classes or the OBCs, a Muslim and a Dalit.
The inclusion of his son and nephew and what is being seen as a skewed social representation in his ministry has already earned the chief minister of the country's newest state to charges of nepotism.
However His son KCR, who will be a Cabinet ranked minister said, "Definitely it is a criticism, and we will have to silence them with our performance."
