TDP gears up for Naidu's coronation Vijayawada: The rank and file of the TDP from Krishna and Guntur districts is getting ready for the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Minister designate N Chandrababu Naidu at the sprawling grounds opposite to the Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU) on June 8.
Even as the officials of the two districts are racing against time to make arrangements on the grounds for the mega event, the party leaders from both the districts are getting ready to deck up the cities with yellow flags.
The TDP from Krishna, Vijayawada Urban, Guntur Urban and Guntur district have already instructed the party leaders to decorate the cities and the villages with the party flag for the day.
The party office-bearers from village level to the State level were instructed to make arrangements for the event and celebrate June 8 as family festival. The newly-elected legislators, MPs, members of the mandal parishads, zilla parishads, municipalities and municipal corporations too were asked to join the celebrations along with the family members.
At a meeting of the party leaders held in Vijayawada, the MP, Kesineni Srinivas asked the party workers to decorate the city and all along between Vijayawada and Guntur for the day. He had also asked the party leaders to organize different events for the day including feeding the poor, donating food and fruits for the patients in different hospitals, orphanages.
Meanwhile, the Guntur District Collector, S Suresh Kumar, held a review meeting in Guntur where he had directed the officials to make the swearing-in ceremony a memorable event. He directed the officials to complete the arrangements at the venue by June 6 evening.
He also directed the officials of all departments including the police to complete the arrangements ahead of the schedule. He wanted the police to ensure traffic regulation on the national highway to prevent inconvenience caused to the general public on the occasion.
