Madhusudhana Chary speaker of T Assembly HYDERABAD: Bhupalpalle TRS MLA Sirikonda Madhusudhana Chary will be the first Speaker of Telangana Assembly. Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao cleared Madhusudhana Chary's name for the Speaker's post.
KCR had first offered the post to Dharmapuri MLA Koppula Eashwar but since he was not inclined to take up, Madhusudana Chary was offered the post. Earlier, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Bajireddy Govardhan and Konda Surekha were also offered Speaker's post but all of them had turned down the offer.
According to sources, KCR is likely to expand his Cabinet soon and he may induct two women MLAs. Names of Konda Surekha, Padma Devender Reddy and Rekha Naik are doing the rounds.
Initial reports indicated that Konda Surekha was expected to be inducted into the state cabinet in the first phase but KCR chose Station Ghanpur MLA T Rajaiah from the district. Sources said that Koppula Eshwar and Jupally Krishna Rao would get cabinet posts in the first phase of expansion.
However, among two former TJAC members, Srinivas Goud and Swamy Goud, only one will get a seat, sources added. KCR came in for some criticism for inducting three family members and excluding women members.
Also, critics pointed out that his cabinet has given priority to upper caste leaders. According to sources after he completes his visit to Gajwel, his first after becoming CM, KCR is expected to discuss cabinet expansion at his farmhouse in the evening and six leaders are likely to get cabinet posts.
