New IT policy soon, says KT Rama Rao HYDERABAD: IT and panchayat raj minister KT Ramarao said that the Telangana state government would come out with a new IT policy after the conclusion of the Assembly session.
In an informal chat with reporters here, Ramarao said that the state government was keen to encourage investments in software, biochemistry and also in infrastructure sectors. He said that Hyderabad was suitable for further development in IT field and had a potential of creating another 5 lakh jobs in the coming years.
Ramarao said that President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be invited to the state to participate in the Telangana Formation Day celebrations, which will be held soon. He added that the TRS government wanted to maintain a friendly relations with the Central government.
Earlier, representatives of a US-based company Little Giant Ladder System called on Ramarao at the Secretariat. They expressed keen interest to set up their shop in Hyderabad with an estimated investment of Rs 311 crore.
IT Minister Visits ISB
Hyderabad: Panchayat raj and IT minister KT Rama Rao visited the Indian School of Business (ISB) here on Friday. Stating his vision to improve the IT sector, particularly entrepreneurship and innovation, Rama Rao said he was keen to explore ways in which the government and ISB could collaborate to strengthen the overall ecosystem.
Ajit Rangnekar, Dean, ISB, said, 'Now with the birth of Telangana, we believe it is our responsibility to share our expertise and knowledge with the government in contributing to the growth and development of the new state.'
