TDP paints Vijayawada yellow Vijayawada: With the Telugu Desam Party chief N ChandraBabu Naidu all set to take over as the first Chief Minister of divided Andhra Pradesh, his swearing-in is to be full of grandeur.
Many big wigs are ready to witness the ceremony. Naidu will take oath at the specially erected setting in an expanse of 70 acres near Acharya Nagarjuna University campus, clearly indicating that he is eying Guntur-Vijayawada twin cities to locate the new capital.
The new party MLAs and MPs made it a point to leave no stone unturned in making the event a grand success. They have already lined up fire works. The city was painted yellow after a decade to add colour to the event. Banners were hung from commercial establishments and buildings to welcome the new CM.
Printers of flex, vinyl, paper banners and poster-printing shops have already minted money. TDP flags, banners and cut-outs of candidates were arranged throughout the city. Youth who played a major role in the poll success of party candidates keenly displayed publicity material on their cars and bikes. Even cycles were painted yellow.
Jakka Mohan Krishna, partner of Galaxy Graphics, Gandhinagar said, 'This year it is a double bonanza for this business. With elections gaining prominence, the State bifurcation and Vijayawada becoming a hot spot, the season is full of profit. Our hands are full in terms of work and money'.
Banners and cutouts featuring TDP founder-president NTR, Naidu and Nara Lokesh and those with pictures of the party managing committee members and industrialists have been put up. All star hotels, resorts and other places have been blocked for three days for VIPs, leaders and other invitees for the swearing-in ceremony.
