Suravaram, Raghavulu to skip Naidu's swearing-in HYDERABAD: CPI general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy while thanking Andhra Pradesh CM-designate N Chandrababu Naidu for iniviting him for the swearing- in ceremony wished him all the success.
The Left leader, who had indirectly stated his inability to attend the programme in a press release, said the paths of CPI and TDP, which had taken up agitations on various public issues together, had now stand divided with TDP going with BJP for electoral alliance.
He said now TDP had distanced itself from secular values, which is unfortunate. He asked Naidu to implement his poll promises at the earliest and act in a responsible manner.
On the other hand, CPM politburo member BV Raghavalu too expressed his inability to attend the swearing in ceremony of Chandrababu Naidu, as he will be attending the party executive council meeting slated for the same day.
He too wished Naidu all the success and asked him to keep all the promises made during run-up to elections.
Naidu Should Clarify on Crop Loan Waiver: YSRC
Hyderabad: YSR Congress has demanded that TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu should make a categorical statement on waiver of agriculture loans while signing his first file after he is sworn in as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.
''We demand that the TDP should be categorical on agriculture loan waiver and the party has to clarify when it will waive all agriculture loans and DWACRA loans as promised during elections. The first signature should carry details and modalities of the loan waiver.
People have given us a mandate and we will play our role as a true opposition party and will question the TDP government on all its lapses,'
YSRC MLA G Srikanth Reddy said at a news conference here on Saturday. At a time when the state is split and the economy is in a crisis, YSRC cannot ratify the pompous celebrations of swearing-in.
There are reports that some of the poor people were evacuated from the venue for the swearing-in ceremony. YSRC does not endorse such acts, he said.
