Four bodies, 24 survivors reach Hyderabad HYDERABAD: The bodies of four students, who were washed away in the Beas river, along with 24 survivors, including four faculty membersarrived at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) by an Air Costa flight at 11.45 pm Monday.
Parents and family members of the victims, who were waiting at the airport, received them. Recalling the tragedy, students said they returned home safely by God's grace. They were saddened by the loss of their friends in the tragedy and blamed the negligent dam officals for the tragedy.
Telangana minister Mahender Reddy, Andhra Pradesh ministers P Pulla Rao and Palle Raghunatha Reddy were at the airport to receive the survivors. They said the two governments will make all efforts to rescue the remaianing students.
Naidu Blames HP Govt
Indirectly criticising his Himachal Pradesh counterpart Virbhadra Singh, AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu blamed machinery of HP for the drowning of 24 students from Hyderabad. Addressing mediapersons at his residence on Monday, the CM said he had spoken to Singh on Sunday night. Meanwhile, President Pranab Mukherjee condoled the death of students in the tragedy.
