Parties assures cooperation to new Speaker Hyderabad, June 10 (INN): All political parties have promised to extend their full cooperation to Speaker Sirikonda Madhusudana Chary in smooth conduct of business in the Telangana State Legislative Assembly.
Speaking after Chary's unanimous election as the Speaker, Telangana Chief Minister and Leader of the House K Chandrasekhar Rao appreciated the opposition parties for ensuring unanimous election of the Speaker.
Recalling the role of Chary during the statehood movement, KCR said that he fully deserved the post as he was among the most dedicated leader of the Telangana struggle.
He requested the opposition parties to extend same cooperation in future to ensure development of Telangana. He said that the TRS Government would prefer to discuss issues on the floor of House than wasting the precious time of the Legislative Assembly.
Leader of the Opposition K Jana Reddy congratulated Madhusudana Chary on his unanimous election as the Speaker and hoped that he would protect the rights of opposition parties.
Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka of Congress said that the Speaker should give adequate time to the opposition parties to raise their issues in the House.
Making an interesting remark, TDP floor leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao said that the Assembly has many pass outs of "TDP University". He was referring to both KCR and Madhusudana Chary who began their political careers with the TDP. Therefore, he hoped that the TDP would not find it difficult to play the role of a construction opposition.
MIM MLA Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri requested the new Speaker to allocate adequate time to raise the issues of Muslims and Dalits in the House. He also hoped that the government would take the suggestions of opposition members seriously.
BJP floor leader Dr K Lakshman hoped that the Speaker would ensure that first Assembly of Telangana State performs up to the expectations of people of this region. G Kishan Reddy suggested that MLAs should be more inclined towards debates than wasting the time.
G Venkateshwara Rao (YSRCP) too promised his party's support to the new Speaker in smooth running of the House. A Indirakaran Reddy (BSP) appealed to the Speaker to allocate sufficient time to discuss the issues concerning Tribals in the State.
Deputy Speakers Md Mahmood Ali and Dr T Rajaiah, Ministers - Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Etela Rajender, T Harish Rao and Jagadeswara Reddy; Geetha Reddy, Redya Naik and B Janardhan Reddy of Congress, A Revanth Reddy and Talasani Srinivas Yadav of TDP, Konda Surekha and R Balakrishna of TRS, NVSS Prabhakar of BJP and other members also spoke on the occasion. The Speaker then adjourned the House till 11 AM on Wednesday.
