KCR decides to use CM camp office
HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has changed his plans and decided to use the existing Chief Minister's camp office in Begumpet.
Initially, KCR had refused to stay in the camp office, which was used by former chief ministers N Kiran Kumar Reddy and YS Rajasekhara Reddy during their time in the hot seat.
Accordingly, two quarters were allotted for KCR's use in Kundanbagh area. The police too moved quickly and removed a check-post and barricades at the Begumpet camp-office recently.
Now with KCR changing his mind, officials are making plans accordingly. Sources said KCR may move into the Begumpet office in two-three days.
What prompted him to prefer the Begumpet office is unclear but sources said the Chief Minister told officials the argument of 'bad vaastu' wasn't good enough a reason not to occupy it. KCR felt minor repairs could be taken up to offset the perceived disadvantages of the Begumpet camp office, the sources said.
The Kundanbagh quarters, allotted to the Chief Minister, may now be given to the newly-elected Assembly Speaker Madhusudhana Chary.
However, he has only recently renovated his residence at the MLAs' Quarters. Whether he moves into the Kundanbagh quarters or stays in his present quarters remains to be seen. If he prefers the latter course, the quarters may go to IAS or IPS officers.
