Nandigama TDP MLA dies of cardiac arrest Hyderabad, 16 June: Nandigama (Krishna district) MLA Tangirala Prabhakara Rao (60) died of cardiac arrest on Saturday midnight. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) legislator died at hospital in Nandigama at around midnight on Sunday.
His health was found to be normal till yesterday and spent his time along with the Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao and even visited Pulichentala project .
In the late evening, the he had his dinner along with family members and went to sleep. Suddenly he complained vomiting, and was shifted hospital. Doctors declared him brought dead at 11:45 PM.
An advocate by profession, he won as MLA for the second time on TDP ticket. He was born on May 1, 1950 at Paritala vilage of Nandigama taluka.
Prabhakara Rao joined Telugu Desam Party in 1980 and served as ZPTC member and Mandala parishad president in the past. First time he was elected as MLA in 2009.
Known as a non controversial leader Prabhakara Rao got elected under SC category in 2009. He won with a margin of 5215 votes over his nearest congress rival Velpula Pramaeswara Rao. In 2014 elections he defeated YSRCP candidate Dr.M Jagan Mohan Rao.
He married to Pramila Kumari and is survived with a son and two daughters. Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu along with other leaders expressed deep shock and expressed condolences over the death.
